Suffering from acidity? Prescription drugs not giving you the relief they promised? Are side effects of the medicines making matters worse? Shove them aside and make way for some home remedies that will treat your acidity effectively with no side effects at all.
Fruits and milk go a long way
Fruits like bananas, mangoes, musk melon and dates with milk (not more than 300 milliliters of milk every hour) should be your preferred diet. Bananas are the recommended fruit for this condition because they contain an alkaline ash that corrects the acid in the stomach.
Also, flea seed husk should be taken with water after every meal. Try taking only about 10 grams or so.
Remedy for painful ulcers
Have ulcers too? Then a liter and a half of water should be consumed during the day. A hip bath, too, will aid in providing you relief – sit in a tub of water for up to fifteen minutes, preferably on an empty stomach. If possible, plaster your lower abdomen with clay and leave it on for half an hour. This heals your ulcers.
And there’s more
If you eat gourd of any kind, remove the rind, as the latter usually troubles the stomach.
An effective acidity remedy is to mix a pinch of asafetida and rock salt with half a teaspoon of dry ginger powder and a cup of water. This mixture is very beneficial.
You can alleviate discomfort by sipping on mint juice, which can be made by boiling chopped mint leaves. You should sip it slowly after your meal.
Drinking the water of several tender coconuts during the day is yet another effective remedy for acidity.
Eating fresh watermelon and fresh cucumbers is great for reducing acidity. If you can keep a small fragment of jaggery (sugar molasses) in your mouth, then let it melt slowly as you suck it. Your acidity will reduce.
If you boil some cumin seeds in a glass of water and drink it, you’ll be relieved of acidity.
